Arts at Oxbridge Academy

The Arts are an integral component of Oxbridge Academy’s curriculum. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of artistic disciplines, and unleash their creative energy through such courses as dance, painting, photography, ceramics, theater, and even film making. Whether in a music rehearsal room or on a film set, the growth of each student occurs within the greater context of the Oxbridge Academy's mission of student centered experiences and highly collaborative project based learning.

The Arts help students gain a greater understanding of their unique potentials, and enable them to effectively express their ideas within the community. Through acting in a play, or designing the school's yearbook, students learn to work in groups while simultaneously developing and displaying their individual talents. The Academy's highly credentialed and passionate teachers help develop the creative skills that will enhance students' lives within Oxbridge and beyond.

After students prepare their work, Oxbridge provides a venue to showcase it. Our state of the art facilities reflect to the school's commitment to excellence in the arts. The digital media lab houses 16 work stations equipped with new iMacs. The Auditorium is a versatile and intimate venue that is perfect for choral, theatre productions, and instrumental concerts. By fall of 2012 the Auditorium will be upgraded to include the latest technology in lighting and visual effects. The Exhibition Center features rotating exhibitions of student projects. The Community Art Room offers ample space, and open hours, for students to develop long-term projects in multiple media. Even the main Music Room was redesigned to be acoustically superior, and the Music Theory Lab houses 12 iMac workstations.
